Christmas Donation 2023
Coaching for young heroes
This time, our annual Christmas donation goes to the non-profit organization "Heroes for Heroes": As a coaching platform, Heroes for Heroes offers teenagers and young adults free coaching sessions and opportunities for personal support and conversations.
With the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, it feels like we have gone from one crisis straight into the next. Especially during puberty, when life is in a state of transition anyway, it is not surprising that more and more young people are feeling insecure and anxious. During this time, parents are often not the first persons to talk to. Young people then need someone from outside who is there to listen. This is exactly where Heroes for Heroes comes in.
The way you are, you're good
Around 140 qualified coaches are on hand to help teenagers and young adults between 16 to 25 years with advice and support. No matter what topic, the coaches always have an open ear for the challenges and needs of young people. The coaching sessions can take place digitally or on site.
"Around five and a half years ago, I came up with the idea of a free online coaching platform. I quickly realized that there was a huge demand for youth-oriented coaching and that we were reaching our limits with our offering. That's why I founded the non-profit company Heroes for Heroes in 2020. This allows us to generate donations and incorporate them directly into our services," explains Angelika Riedler, founder and Managing Director of Heroes for Heroes. The donations enable more in-depth coaching, for example when young people need more intensive support but their parents cannot afford it.
Coaching as a temporary solution before therapy
Heroes for Heroes offers young people one free coaching session per month. Workshops are also offered to reduce the inhibition threshold before an intensive one-to-one coaching. Here, the Heroes get to know a few coaches and in this way reduce the inhibition of going into a one-to-one meeting with one of the coaches they already know. This individual coaching is now increasingly becoming a temporary solution before the actual start of therapy. Based on this experience, Heroes for Heroes would like to focus on the topic of psychotherapy in the coming year. The aim is to build up a small team of psychologists and psychotherapists in order to be able to offer young people the best possible advice and support.
We are happy that we can support the non-profit organization in this project with our donation. "On behalf of the Heroes, I would like to thank you once again from the bottom of my heart," says Angelika Riedler, who is also thrilled about the financial support.
In this spirit, we wish our partners, suppliers and customers as well as our employees and their families a Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year 2024.
