Investment in new office building

We moved!

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to move into our recently renovated office building.

In order to ensure a smooth and safe process during the Corona pandemic, we developed a detailed relocation plan in advance. All employees and moving personnel followed this plan in an exemplary manner, so that we were able to move into the new building with sufficient distance and step by step from room to room.

Before we moved, we renovated the former Mondi building on Dieselstraße in Sendenhorst completely. During the 10-week renovation phase, we did not only install new floors and new wallpapers, but also a highly efficient air conditioning system. This ensures a pleasant indoor climate even in summer temperatures. In addition, we renewed the IT cabling, the power supply and the entire W-LAN equipment.

Overall, the building design is modern and simple. White walls and white window frames guarantee bright and light-flooded rooms. The dark floor offers an appealing contrast. “This investment in a new office building was very important to us, in order to make our employees feel comfortable and enjoy coming to work,” emphasizes our Managing Director Karl Dietrich Wellsow. Nobody likes working in old and dark rooms. That is why we renovated the existing offices and redesigned the building completely. The total of 20 office and meeting rooms now appear in a new design and provide a consistent and harmonious working environment. All meeting rooms were also equipped with modern video conferencing and presentation technology. This makes it easy to hold virtual meetings and conferences – even internationally. However, each employee is responsible for the individual interior design. Some like it colorful and decorated; others prefer it plain and simple. We are curious to see how the offices will be further furnished and filled with life in the upcoming weeks.

The former paper sack plant of the Mondi Group in Sendenhorst closed already at the end of 2016. Since then, not much has happened at the plant. This made a renovation absolutely necessary. In addition, we wanted to leave the old Mondi building behind and present it in the new look of the DBS. We hope that our team will quickly settle into the new office spaces and feel comfortable in the long term.
